According to Al Arabiya, the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

On the other hand, Al Jazeera Qatar reported that the UN adopted a resolution calling on all parties in Gaza to declare an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

According to the news network, the UN also stressed in the resolution its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Al Mayadeen also reported that the UN General Assembly voted for a resolution supporting the agency’s work in the occupied territories.

The UN General Assembly also adopted a resolution in strong support of UNRWA.

The resolution, which received 159 votes in favor, 9 against, and 11 abstentions, emphasized the vital importance of UNRWA’s mission in providing humanitarian services to Palestinian refugees.

Members of the UN General Assembly, while expressing deep regret over the recent adoption of a law by the Israeli Knesset on October 28, 2024, which bans UNRWA elites from the occupied territories, emphasized the need for continued financial and political support for this international agency.
