The Wall Street Journal: The United States has provided Israel with 100 mortar bombs

PNN – An American newspaper has revealed that Joe Biden’s administration has provided Israel with 100 2,000-pound mortar bombs, despite emphasizing the need to avoid killing civilians.

According to the International group of Pakistan News Network, an American newspaper revealed in an exclusive report that the United States has provided Israel with massive rock-crushing bombs and tens of thousands of other weapons and artillery shells to help Israel carry out military operations in Gaza.

The Wall Street Journal quoted American officials in this report the increase in arms shipments from the US to Israel, which includes the shipment of 15,000 bombs and 57,000 artillery shells, began shortly after the October 7 attack and has continued in recent days.

The US had not disclosed the exact number of weapons it had sent to the Zionist regime before. The shipment of 100 2,000-pound mortar bombs was also previously undisclosed by the US.

The Wall Street Journal writes that the transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars of ammunition by C-17 military aircraft from the United States to Tel Aviv shows the diplomatic challenges facing the administration of the President of the United States, Joe Biden. On the one hand, the United States invites its main ally in the region to avoid increasing civilian casualties, but on the other hand, to provide Tel Aviv with many of the munitions through which those operations are carried out.

America has strongly supported the attacks of the Israeli regime after October 7. Joe Biden’s government has said in recent days that it only supports “ceasefires” in Gaza and is not in favor of a ceasefire that could benefit Hamas.

The White House has so far resisted calls from human rights activists and some Democratic politicians to end Israeli attacks. Officials of the Biden administration say that improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza will only be possible through these temporary ceasefires.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this Friday in Dubai: “I made it clear that after the ceasefire, it is essential that Israel put in place clear safeguards to protect civilians and continue to send aid to Gaza.”

Despite this, other evidence shows that the US has left Israel’s hand free to kill civilians as much as possible. For example, yesterday Blinken said before the clashes started again: “Israel has the right to do whatever it takes to ensure that the October 7 massacre by Hamas is not repeated.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, some security analysts said that the transfer of these weapons could reduce the pressure of the Biden administration on Israel to protect civilians.

Brian Finokin, senior adviser of the crisis non-profit group, who was also a former legal adviser at the US State Department, said: “This practice is inconsistent with statements by Blinken and others that Israel should use smaller bombs.”

Before the first temporary ceasefire was established on November 24, Israel’s 7-week offensive in Gaza had resulted in the martyrdom of more than 15,000 people, more than 5,500 of whom were children. These figures are increasing, and the Ministry of Health in Gaza has announced that at least 178 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the first day of the end of the ceasefire.

Israeli attacks have started since October 7 and after the operations of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas against this regime. On the 7th of October, in response to more than seven decades of occupation of Palestine and nearly two decades of siege of Gaza and the imprisonment and torture of thousands of Palestinians, Hamas launched the so-called “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation.

This operation was one of the deadliest attacks against this regime. Hamas fighters penetrated into the occupied territories at several points of the border fences, attacked the villages and besides killing a large number of Israelis, captured a number of them.

In response to this operation, the Zionist regime launched heavy attacks against Gaza and put this area under complete siege.

The Wall Street Journal writes that Joe Biden’s administration has not released any statistics on arms deals with Israel, contrary to its practice regarding the Ukraine war, which publicly announces statistics on arms shipments.

American officials have claimed that part of the reason for Washington’s silence in the issue of arms aid to Israel is that the weapons sent to Tel Aviv are done through a different mechanism, including through military sales. Additionally, Israel is the largest recipient of US military aid each year, receiving $3.8 billion annually.

On the 56th day since the start of the Zionist aggression, the Zionist regime resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip after a week-long ceasefire.

The seventh stage of the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and the Zionist regime took place, during which the Zionists released 30 Palestinians and eight Israelis were also released.

The Zionist Army announced today that since the end of the ceasefire in Gaza, it has lost 9 of its soldiers. The Hamas movement emphasizes that the Zionists are responsible for the failure of the ceasefire.

The Wall Street Journal wrote that this set of weapons sent by America to Israel has already been used in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia and Libya and some other countries to target a large group of enemy forces. In Gaza, contrary to these operations, Israel is targeting civilian centers.

An investigative report by an English-language magazine run by a group of Israeli and Palestinian journalists reveals how the Zionist regime uses artificial intelligence to deliberately target large numbers of civilians, including women and children.

According to this website, the Israeli regime in the current war, which it named “Operation Iron Sword”, has significantly targeted the areas that are not of a military nature. These targets include private residences, public buildings, infrastructure and tall towers.

Informed sources who had first-hand experience of being in Gaza bombings told +972 magazine that the main purpose of attacking these places is to harm the Palestinian civil society: It means creating a shock that will have heavy consequences and cause civilians to put pressure on Hamas.

Several sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Israeli military has intelligence on a large proportion of potential targets in Gaza and has preconceived notions about how many casualties an attack on a site would cause.

+972 magazine wrote: The executions and numbers have been calculated and the intelligence units of the Israeli army know about it in advance and even shortly before the attack they are sure how many civilians are going to be killed.
