Two members of the American Congress to the resolution “Israel’s right to exist”

Two members of the American Congress to the resolution “Israel’s right to exist”

The absolute majority of the US House of Representatives approved the resolution of the Zionist regime’s right to exist, while 15,000 Palestinians have been martyred during this regime’s war against Gaza.

On Tuesday, the US House of Representatives with an overwhelming majority passed a resolution on the recognition of “Israel’s right to exist”, and only two of the Democratic and Republican representatives did not vote positively for the adoption of this resolution.

According to “Business Insider”, “Rashida Tlaib”, the Democratic Representative of Michigan State, and “Thomas Massey”, the Republican Representative of the US State of Kentucky, were the only ones who did not vote in favor of the resolution of the US House of Representatives on Tuesday to “recognize the existence of Israel”.

The proposed resolution was proposed by Mike Lawler, a Republican representative of New York State, and the rights of the Zionist regime were mentioned in it. This is even though there was no mention of the Palestinians and their rights over the occupied territories in the aforementioned resolution.

In a statement after the approval of the resolution, Tlaib said: “The said resolution ignores the existence of the Palestinian people… and does not bring us closer to any peaceful coexistence.”

In part of the resolution proposed and approved in the US House of Representatives, it is stated: “Denying Israel’s right to exist is a form of anti-Semitism.” This section was opposed by Thomas Massey, and he wrote in this regard on the social network X (Twitter): Anti-Semitism is an unfortunate act, but criticism of Israel should not be considered a part of it.

This Republican member of the US House of Representatives stated that the most important reason for his opposition to the said resolution is that “anti-Semitism” and “anti-Zionism” are equally considered in this resolution.

This is not the first time that the House of Representatives of the United States has voted on a resolution like the aforementioned resolution in support of the Zionist regime, however, it may be considered the first resolution that most of the members of the so-called “Squad” except Rashida Tlaib voted for. An issue that shows the division between the members of this group over the issue of Palestine and the Zionist regime during the Gaza war.

In criticizing the provisions of the mentioned resolution, Tlaib said: It is very important that the Palestinian people have the right to live in their historical land with equal rights and freedom. Not that they will always be discriminated against and treated as second-class citizens.

Rashidah Tlaib considered the said resolution as a one-sided attempt to rewrite the history of Palestine and the Zionist regime and stated that even the smallest and smallest rights of the Palestinian people were not taken into account in it.

According to this Palestinian member of the US Congress, the said resolution did not even mention the fact that the Zionist regime does not have the right to illegally occupy Palestinian lands and apartheid.

Tlaib’s statements and positions in support of the rights of the Palestinian people continue while earlier this month, he was condemned in a resolution by the majority of the members of the American House of Representatives for spreading false narratives about the Gaza war and calling for the destruction of the Zionist regime.
