US Defense Minister’s trip to Israel; Supportive or warning?

PNN – The American defense minister met with his counterpart and the Israeli prime minister, and although the parties tried to hide the differences, their words spoke well of the unfortunate reality for Israel.

“The operation in Gaza is an Israeli operation and I am not here to dictate a time limit [to end the war].” This is the words of American Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, who went to occupied Palestine on Monday, and the media made various analyzes and speculations about the content of his meeting with War Minister Yoav Gallant and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In these meetings, Austin talked about these issues with the Israeli side: Time to end the war, continued arms support, war on the northern front (with Lebanon), war on the southern front (Gaza), closure of the Red Sea passage to Israeli ships or ships destined for Israel, dire situation in the West Bank, fewer civilians killed in Gaza, the situation at the end of the war.

As Austin stood next to Gallant at the news conference, he told reporters, “We understand the depth of the difficulty for you after October 7th. We need to think together again”… The United States continues its deep commitment to Israel’s security to be Israel’s closest friend in the world.

The support of the Israeli minister for the beating of journalists

When we analyze the words of two officials of the Ministry of Defense of the United States and Israel side by side and compared to each other, we will automatically see the extent of the differences between the parties that they are trying to keep secret. We don’t need to use political psychology and even body language of officials. Many media have raised the question; why did Austin go to Israel? Is it for more support or to warn Israel about war with Hezbollah or to set a time limit for ground operations in Gaza?

The American, who does not even take action alone against the armed forces of Yemen and tries to interact with it with some kind of collective movement (for various reasons), will never welcome the opening of a new front in the north of Israel. Therefore, Austin has warned Israel in this regard. Gallant’s reaction at the news conference that “we will not hesitate to attack Hezbollah if diplomacy fails” means that Austin emphasized and warned that Tel Aviv should engage with Hezbollah through diplomacy, not bullshit.

Another important warning that America has given to Israel is the warning about the situation in the West Bank. Few media have addressed this important issue, but the truth is that America has a deeper view of the West Bank compared to Israel, which is still overwhelmed by the sense of revenge and confused by the October 7th blow. The situation in the West Bank is getting worse every day. On the other hand, instead of managing its space so that the West Bank does not become a new burden on the shoulders of Tel Aviv and Washington, Israel is busy provoking the West Bank with an emotional, repressive and crude policy. On the one hand, he implements the iron and bloody fist policy, and on the other hand, he has made thousands of West Bank workers unemployed, and on the other hand, he has seized millions of dollars in West Bank taxes, which are used to pay the salaries of many employees, and on the other hand, the settlers distributing weapons and arming them, it has killed the people of the West Bank.

“Attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank must stop. Those who carry out these attacks should be arrested. The United States still believes that it is in the interests of both Israel and the Palestinians to move towards a two-state solution and live together.”
