PNN – In a video interview, the American author and strategist referred to the consequences of the conflict with Iran, describing the war as a strategic mistake and warning that its continuation could entail heavy costs for the United States and the global economy.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Robert Pape, an American author, strategist, and media expert, is one of the figures who calls war with Iran a grave and strategic mistake.
He, who recently appeared in a video interview, made the following statements: This war was a gross and predictable strategic mistake. I have studied these issues for 30 years and have written various books on the subject; so this is my area of expertise and I can comment on it.
Robert Pape continued: The war with Iran is a disaster worse than Vietnam and Iraq. What happened was completely predictable, and the consequences of this war are exactly the consequences that were expected. In my opinion, this war will go down in history as a bigger mistake than the Iraq and Vietnam wars; not just because of the military casualties, but because we are pushing the world economy to the brink every week.
The American writer and strategist stated: The problem is that the nature of power in Iran is a zero-sum game. Iran is getting a taste of power as the fourth pole of the world. They see that they have reduced the GDP of Saudi Arabia and the UAE by 20 to 30 percent. Imagine Iran even preventing Japan and the Europeans from intervening militarily in this situation. Robert Pape then noted: I was recently in Australia.
The last thing Australia wants to do is get involved in this, especially given Iran’s power. So the longer this goes on, the more powerful Iran will become, and the options facing the US will become increasingly militarized and, of course, less effective.
