Atwan: Israel is heading toward a political crisis

PNN – Mocking Israeli democracy and its elections, the editor-in-chief of Rai Al-Youm Abdel Bari Atwan stated that the true winners are Iran and the resistance movements.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Abdel Bari Atwan—editor-in-chief of the pan-Arab online newspaper Rai Al-Youm and a prominent Palestinian analyst—dedicated his latest editorial to the elections of the Zionist regime and the scenarios that may follow. He wrote that there are three key parties that will have a direct impact—not only on the election results and the identity of the next prime minister, but also on the future of the occupying Israeli regime (for the first time since its establishment 78 years ago). These parties are:

The Real Winners of the Zionist Regime’s Elections

— First: The October 7th attack—Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood”—which shattered Israel’s hollow credibility, exposed the fragility of its military and security infrastructure, and dismantled the myth of Israel’s ability to achieve decisive victory in any battle or war within hours—a myth previously predicated on its air superiority, American backing, and the perceived weakness of its adversaries.

— Second: The steadfastness of Iran and its allies across the battlefronts; the possession of a highly advanced missile program by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC); and the country’s resolute leadership—supported by exceptionally intelligent and capable military, economic, and political advisors—which is entirely unacquainted with fear or hesitation.

— Third: The Arab vote in occupied Palestine—specifically, the shift from boycotting elections to utilizing them as a tool for resistance—which could lead to the downfall of Netanyahu’s “Nazi” cabinet, while simultaneously sending a warning to his rivals and opponents who might potentially ascend to the premiership with the help of the Arab vote.

The Demise of a Sham Democracy and the Scenario of Israel’s Collapse

The article goes on to reference a recent CIA report regarding the potential for civil war and the collapse of the Zionist regime. It notes that this alarming intelligence assessment concerning the future of the Zionists came as no surprise; the report indicates that the occupying regime of Israel is heading toward collapse and disintegration—driven by internal divisions, the erosion of its international standing, and mounting financial and military losses resulting from a war fought on seven fronts—a conflict in which it has not only failed to secure a victory on any front but has, in fact, suffered defeat.

Atwan stated that anyone who has followed recent developments within the Zionist regime—specifically the unprecedented rift between the occupying regime’s current Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Chief of the General Staff, Eyal Zamir—will inevitably conclude that the CIA report regarding the collapse of Israel and the erosion of its foundational pillars (namely, its military) is highly accurate. This conclusion is further reinforced by Zamir’s refusal to obey Netanyahu’s orders to launch an attack on Iran prior to the elections—a move seemingly intended to disrupt or postpone the electoral process.

This Palestinian analyst noted that the intervention of U.S. President Donald Trump—who effectively became a spokesperson for Netanyahu, urging Israelis to vote for him so he could remain in power and “complete the mission of destroying Iran and changing its regime”—dealt a fatal blow to what is termed “Israeli democracy.”

He emphasized that this hollow and sham democracy had been used to deceive Western public opinion into supporting Israel and its wars, based on the claim that Israel stood as the sole democracy amidst a “jungle” of dictatorships throughout the Arab world.

The editor-in-chief of the newspaper Rai Al-Youm continued: The Zionist regime is openly heading toward a political crisis, as Netanyahu has proven—much like his Arab allies and partners in the normalization agreements—that he is a dictator with absolutely no intention of relinquishing power.

According to this commentary, Netanyahu remains determined to cling to his position in the cabinet; he will undoubtedly concoct countless excuses to evade defeat—most notably by alleging electoral fraud and insisting that he will not permit the votes of Arab citizens to determine the election outcome in favor of the opposition or shape the future of the Israeli regime.

The Real Winners Are Iran and Its Allies in the Axis of Resistance

Abdel Bari Atwan stated that Eyal Zamir—who refused to carry out Netanyahu’s order to launch a new war against Iran and stood up to him—made the right decision. This is because he is well aware of Iran’s strength and the immense destructive capabilities of its missiles—only a small fraction of which were revealed during previous conflicts.

He added that the Zionists also recall how, in past wars, Iranian drones and missiles devastated major cities and neighborhoods in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Eilat, and even Ashkelon and Ashdod—located in the occupied territories of southern Palestine—forcing seven million Israelis to take shelter in bunkers and underground railway tunnels.

The article further emphasizes that a major crisis for Israel will begin once the polls close, rendering the vote count entirely meaningless; the Zionist regime’s contrived and deceptive democracy has effectively come to an end—a reality that applies equally to the question of whether Netanyahu remains in power or departs.

The author notes that the true victor is the party that engineered and executed the “Al-Aqsa Storm” battle—namely, the Palestinian Resistance—as well as the party that did not hesitate to bombard Tel Aviv with highly advanced, hypersonic missiles, and which stood firm against all pressures and acts of aggression aimed at forcing it to surrender its missile and nuclear programs and hand over 500 kilograms of enriched uranium—namely, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Atwan emphasized: Iran has never hesitated to close the Strait of Hormuz—and keep it closed—and continues to target vessels passing through the strait illegally. We are speaking here of Iran and the resistance movements—with their brilliant minds—that have altered the regional equation and are securing one victory after another.

The article concludes by stating that Iran, alongside the resistance movements, has begun to forge a glorious future for the region—a future in which the Zionist entity no longer exists, and not a single American base remains.
