PNN – New polls in the United States indicate that the Democrats’ chances of winning Senate seats have increased.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; recent polling by The New York Times and Siena College suggests that Democrats have gained greater opportunities to secure Senate seats in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections; notably, the contests in some Republican-leaning states have become tighter than anticipated.
According to these polls, in South Carolina, Republican candidate and appointed senator Darlene Graham is tied with Democratic candidate Annie Andrews, with each garnering 48 percent of the vote among likely voters. In a state where Donald Trump won by an 18-point margin in the 2024 election, this result signals a highly competitive race for the Democrats. Voters’ negative assessment of Graham’s experience and qualifications has been cited as a key factor contributing to the narrowing of the contest.
In Minnesota, Democratic candidate Peggy Flanagan leads Republican candidate Michele Tafoya—who holds 40% support—with 54% of the vote. This result suggests that Republicans face an uphill battle in capturing this seat.
In Florida, Republican Senator Ashley Moody is ahead of Democratic candidate Angie Nixon, 50% to 44%; however, the margin between the two candidates keeps the race competitive.
Overall, these polls indicate an expansion of the Democrats’ electoral map, though the results of any single poll are not sufficient to definitively predict the election outcome.
