PNN – The Israeli Attorney General had opposed postponing the Prime Minister’s trial, but the judges ultimately decided to accept Netanyahu’s request and extend the timeline for his testimony.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; a court in the occupied territories has granted Benjamin Netanyahu’s request to cancel his trial, citing “security and political constraints.”

In a related development, Israeli Channel 12 reporter Dafna Liel reported that judges at the Central Court in occupied Jerusalem have granted a request by Benjamin Netanyahu’s defense team to cancel his testimony in corruption cases.

The hearing was scheduled for Monday, according to the report, but judges agreed to postpone it despite opposition from the prosecution.

Netanyahu is the first Israeli prime minister to be indicted for a crime while in office.

He denies charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust brought against him in 2019 after years of investigation.

His trial, which began in 2020 and could lead to prison sentences, has been repeatedly postponed due to his tenure as prime minister, with no end in sight.
