PNN – Bahrain, which intended to deport a number of Shiites who had been stripped of their citizenship to Iran via Oman and Türkiye, faced opposition from both countries.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; News sources announced that Bahrain, which planned to deport a number of its stripped Shia citizens to Iran via Oman, faced opposition from Muscat.

Following this decision, Bahraini authorities decided to transfer stripped Shia citizens, including Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Ansari, to Iran via Turkey, but Turkey also opposed the issue of being involved in the crime against Bahraini Shiites.

As a result, the Bahraini Shia citizens returned to Bahrain on the same plane that took them to Istanbul, a tiring journey that lasted a full day.

Now there are concerns about the fate of these Bahraini Shias.

In response to a question about the revocation of citizenship of some Bahraini citizens on charges of solidarity with Iran, Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said: Revocation of citizenship is a completely inhumane act. Revocation of citizenship is basically a punishment that has been abolished a long time ago. No one in the international community can approve of such actions; it is strange to expect the people of the countries of the region not to sympathize with a military aggression against a Muslim country during the month of Ramadan; if you look at the statistics, the vast majority of the people of the region and Muslims around the world express sympathy and empathy for Iran. These types of actions are reminiscent of the actions of the former Iraqi dictator, who revoked citizenship and expelled many simply for claiming that “you are Iranian.” It was expected that such actions would not be taken for about 60 years.

Baqaei emphasized: Human rights institutions must clearly state their positions on these events; this action is a violation of the human rights of Bahraini citizens, and the country’s authorities must be held accountable for violating these rights.

In recent weeks, Emirati authorities have also imposed residence, employment, and educational restrictions on many Iranians and Pakistani Shiites living in the country, following tensions in relations.

Among the UAE’s provoking actions is the closure of several Iranian schools in the country.

The country has also arrested a large number of Iranian and Pakistani citizens on trumped-up charges.

Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said on Monday that he had received reports about the UAE’s mistreatment of a number of Iranians living in the country, adding: We are using all our capacity to prevent this situation from continuing. The host government’s duties in this regard are clear, and they must reconsider their behavior.

He emphasized: It should be kept in mind that these days are passing and what remains is the continuation of neighborliness between the countries of the region.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that turning the citizens of a country into a lever for exerting political pressure is inappropriate.

Last Wednesday, in a media statement, Baqai condemned the Bahraini authorities’ approach to imposing inhumane punishments against the native Bahraini people, including revoking their citizenship, and noted: The Bahraini government’s action to revoke the citizenship of Bahraini citizens under the pretext of sympathy with the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressing hatred for the crimes of the United States and Israel against the Iranian nation is a gross violation of human rights and a sign of the discriminatory approach of this country’s rulers towards their own people.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry noted: The Bahraini government cannot use these airbrushing to distract the public opinion of this country and the region from its direct responsibility in supporting and accompanying the American-Israeli aggressors against the Iranian nation.
