PNN – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued three new decrees to reshuffle the cabinet and make various appointments and dismissals within the government structure.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi Royal Court issued a series of royal decrees, including a cabinet reshuffle led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; notably, however, the existing members retained their positions.
The text of the first decree announced the reconstitution of the Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of the Crown Prince, a move undertaken as part of the ongoing work of the government team tasked with implementing the Vision 2030 programs.
The second decree orders the removal of Bandar Al-Khorayef from the chairmanship of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority and the appointment of Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Minister of Energy, to lead the body—which is responsible for enhancing the impact of government procurement and localizing the country’s industries—in his place.
The third decree concerns the Capital Market Authority (CMA); it entails the removal of Mohammed El-Kuwaiz from the chairmanship and the appointment of Mazen Al-Sudairi as the new chairman, with the rank of Minister. Al-Sudairi currently serves as an advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and previously headed the research department at Al Rajhi Financial Group.
