Syria’s Assad is in Russia, Putin’s deputy foreign minister confirms.

According to NBC News, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the country has transferred former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Moscow in the safest possible way after the rapid collapse of his government.

Ryabkov is the first Russian official to officially confirm Assad’s presence in Russia in an interview with a foreign media outlet. He said: “He is safe, and this shows that Russia is acting appropriately and appropriately in extraordinary circumstances.”

The senior Russian diplomat added: “I have no idea what his condition is now. It would be wrong to try to clarify how Assad was transferred.”

Ryabkov went on to emphasize that Russia will continue to support the former Syrian president. Asked whether Russia would hand Assad over if requested by the International Criminal Court, he said: “Russia is not a party to the convention on which the International Criminal Court was established.”

Syria has not joined the Hague-based court. Russia and China also blocked the application of its judgments in their territories in 2014. The United States and the Zionist regime also do not recognize the jurisdiction of the court. In March 2023, the court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin on charges of war crimes!
