PNN – An Italian media outlet has revealed that approximately 800,000 weapons and a quantity of ammunition have gone missing in Ukraine and ended up on the European black market.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano reported that a total of 780,465 weapons have gone missing or been stolen since 2022, with 149,000 of them disappearing in the first five months of this year alone.

Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano wrote that the majority of these weapons originated from military shipments sent by European countries.

Maurizio de Lucia, the public prosecutor of Palermo, informed the Sicilian Anti-Mafia Commission that a significant portion of these weapons is entering the European market and has attracted the attention of the Cosa Nostra mafia group.

The newspaper also emphasized that European nations providing military aid to Ukraine prefer to keep the details of arms shipments to Kyiv confidential—a practice that makes it more difficult for police forces to track the movement of these weapons.
