PNN – US intelligence has acknowledged that Ukraine is grappling with severe shortages of manpower and interceptor missiles.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; citing TASS, a report prepared by the Inspectors General of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), the State Department, and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) acknowledges that the Ukrainian military is facing critical shortages of personnel and interceptor missiles. The report, which covers the period from April 1 to June 30, 2026, has been submitted to the US Congress for review.

Citing estimates from Pentagon intelligence agencies, the report stated that shortages of manpower and military equipment remain the primary obstacle to Ukrainian forces’ ability to effectively sustain combat operations. Furthermore, the report highlighted Ukraine’s continued heavy reliance on Western arms supplies, describing it as “unsustainable,” given that donor nations have other priorities requiring attention alongside the Ukraine issue.

The document further notes that Ukraine is suffering from a critical shortage of interceptor missiles needed to counter ballistic missiles, forcing the country to remain reliant on foreign support from its allies for a significant portion of its air and missile defense capabilities.

The report acknowledges the failure of Ukraine’s efforts to curb Russia’s ground advances, emphasizing that Ukrainian forces have been unable to take sufficient action on the battlefield to halt the Russian advance.
