Al-Mayadeen: Persian Gulf countries were forced to accept Iran’s authority

PNN – An Arab media outlet wrote that Iran has shown that it is still a decisive player in regional equations, and the Persian Gulf countries are forced to accept this reality.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in an article assuming the end of the US-Zionist war against Iran, Al-Mayadeen examined its consequences for the relations between Iran and the Persian Gulf countries and wrote: The most important result of the war was the proof of Iran’s stability and the failure of efforts to overthrow the regime or completely destroy its military power. Iran showed that it is still a decisive player in regional equations, and the Persian Gulf countries are forced to accept this reality. Iran was also able to use its pressure tools such as the Strait of Hormuz, energy, and regional fronts and transfer the cost of the war beyond its borders. In contrast, the Persian Gulf countries felt abandoned by the US, because Washington focused more on supporting Israel than defending them.

Al-Mayadeen added: The Gulf Cooperation Council also did not have a unified position in this war; some moved closer to Israel, some chose active neutrality, and some changed their positions after observing Iran’s resistance. These developments showed that neither the Arab security system nor the American umbrella of support guarantees the security of the region.

The Arab media outlet noted: Many Persian Gulf states have concluded that their security and prosperity cannot be ensured through intense hostility with Iran, and that the future of the region depends on dialogue, cooperation, and the creation of a joint security mechanism between Iran, Arab countries, Turkey, and Pakistan, without American leadership and without the presence of Israel.
