PNN – An Arab media outlet acknowledged the Israeli army’s failure in the battle of Bint Jbeil with Hezbollah.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in light of the continuation and expansion of clashes between Hezbollah fighters and Zionist soldiers, the city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon is witnessing a complex war pattern, as the Israeli army continues to surround it without a real attack due to Hezbollah’s extensive resistance and the casualties that the Israelis are suffering in the field.
Analyzing the situation on the ground, Hassan Jouni, a military and strategic expert on regional affairs, told Al Jazeera that the Israeli army is using a “slow maneuver” to reduce human casualties, and this approach was adopted after the Zionist occupation forces suffered losses since the start of the attack on the city of Bint Jbeil a few days ago.
He added that Israeli forces have surrounded the city of Bint Jbeil, but this siege includes vehicles and not infantry. On the other hand, the geographical and urban nature of Bint Jbeil makes it difficult to completely surround Hezbollah fighters inside it.
This expert on regional military affairs continued that the Israeli army has surrounded the city of Bint Jbeil, but has not yet effectively or actively entered it, and fierce clashes between Hezbollah fighters and the Zionist military continue, without the occupying forces being able to make any progress in advancing towards the city, and in addition, the Israeli army is suffering many casualties.
Explaining the objectives of the war, Hassan Jouni said that Israel seeks the fall of Bint Jbeil as part of a broader plan to control the central sector, after operations in the east and west, with the aim of creating a “buffer zone”, and that the Zionist army relies on the destruction of villages to reduce the effectiveness of the resistance in residential areas.
He noted that Bint Jbeil has an importance beyond the military dimension, as it has a strategic importance related to its symbolism, especially at a time when Lebanese-Israeli negotiations are underway in Washington.
Continuing his analysis, Jouni drew a connection between ground operations and the escalation of missile attacks by Hezbollah, explaining that the movements of Israeli forces in depth reveal targets that can be easily targeted by Hezbollah.
The Arabic-speaking expert said: As the Israeli army’s ground maneuvers become more active, supplies move in from behind, and this movement leads to the disclosure of targets that Hezbollah is targeting.
He added that Hezbollah fighters prey on the Israeli army’s weak points, which explains the escalation of rocket attacks in conjunction with any Israeli ground movement.
Regarding the Israeli army’s evacuation orders for areas in southern Lebanon, Hassan Jouni considered them an “additional weapon” that Israel uses within the framework of its strategy, and their aim is to evacuate the areas from residents and deprive the resistance of its supportive environment.
The military expert noted that the focus on the areas between the Litani and Zahran rivers indicates an attempt to increase military pressure, especially with the possibility of using them to launch short-range missiles towards Galilee.
